Next to diamonds, shoes are a girl’s best friend. Unfortunately, you can’t have them all. If you have a budget to consider, choose one style to invest in this season. Whatever your preference, you can’t go wrong with any of these shoes. Wear wedges for the classic spring look or channel the Mediterranean spirit with gladiator sandals. Need something new for work? Find a pair of flattering slingbacks. You’ll be fashionable regardless of your style choice. Here are three hot trends:

Wedges
A returning favorite, wedges are always reliable to spring up your look. There is a wide selection of styles available, from the classic cork to woven heels. The weaving may be intricate, but woven wedges provide an effortlessly casual and charming look that’s perfect to wear on weekends. Other designers like Christian Louboutin and Michael Kors modernize the wedge design with a new twist. Christian Louboutin designs a heel with the sleek and sexy characteristics of a stiletto, yet the comfort of a wedge. Louboutin’s patent design gives the versatility of being able to be worn during the day and night, with its mix of cork and red stiletto wedge heel. Michael Kors, along with a few others, designs a see-through wedge. The cut-out heel is very chic, with a light and modern feel.

Gladiator Sandals
San Diego may not be the Mediterranean, but don’t let that stop you from slipping into gladiator sandals. Celebrities Ashley Olsen, Nicky Hilton, and Mischa Barton were among the first to embrace this shoe trend. The metallic ‘Gladio’ sandals from Stuart Weitzman are glamorous and sophisticated—fit for a Roman empress. These sandals can be worn with a sundress during the day and with skinny jeans at night. A platform version, ‘Zoom’, is also available for those lacking in stature. Weitzman’s ‘Jeweltones’ and ‘Appetizer’ sandals add more elegance and sparkle to the edgy gladiator design, with rhinestone embellishments. For a more casual option, the simple straps and earthy tones of Bettye Muller’s snake-embossed sandal might be what you’re looking for.

Peep-Toe Slingbacks
As the weather becomes progressively warmer, peep-toe slingbacks are a great alternative to your pumps. Similar in style to regular pumps, peep-toe slingbacks aren’t too revealing to wear to work and allow your feet to breathe. Jessica Simpson’s ‘Evelyn’ heels have a cute buckle detail with an adjustable strap. The design may be simple, but Stuart Weitzman ‘Sharp’ slingbacks are available in bold yellow and fuchsia. Linea Paolo ‘Bethie’ heels are also appropriate for spring, with its floral blooms.
