AMONG UNION BANK OF CALIFORNIA’S many women executives are three who exemplify the talent that helps deliver the products and services individuals and companies need to succeed. Delores McNeely, Hope Mitchem and Irma Muniz know their business, and they know their community.
A 35-year employee, Senior Vice President Delores McNeely enjoys a deep familiarity with both Union Bank and clients. She manages the bank’s statewide Company Benefits Program sales division, which markets bank products and services to employees of client companies at no cost to the company, an arrangement that reduces the client’s payroll expenses while offering enrolling employees attractive terms and the exceptional customer service that distinguishes Union Bank.
Outside the office, McNeely serves on several boards, including the Center for Community Solutions and the San Diego Police Foundation (as chair). She cohosts the annual African American Heritage Month local heroes program cosponsored by Union Bank and public broadcasting station KPBS.
Hope Mitchem is the senior vice president of Cash Management Sales and provides support for Union Bank’s nationally recognized suite of treasury management services. She has been actively involved in the development, sale and implementation of cash management services for more than 20 years. In 1995, the Association for Financial Professionals awarded her lifetime certification as a Certified Cash Manager.
Mitchem serves on the citizens advisory board of the Birch Aquarium at Scripps and is a past president of the San Diego Treasury Management Association.
Irma Muniz is a vice president and senior financial adviser in UnionBanc Investment Services Inc., the bank’s full-service brokerage. A fully licensed investment professional and 21-year industry veteran, Muniz works closely with the bank’s Personal Trust department and several branches in her territory to find solutions that meet clients’ needs and exceed their expectations. She helps her clients “live for today, but plan for tomorrow.” Muniz also trains new representatives in her region. Banking must be in her genes—her son is a second-generation investment adviser.
McNeely, Mitchem and Muniz—three of many women at Union Bank who help move the city.
